Below are a series of Questions with Answers regarding the Rotary US Bank Holiday Classic Tournament
December 28, 29 and 30, 2009
Q. How many years have we had the tournament?
A. This will be the 22nd tournament.
Q. How many teams participate?
A. 8 boys and 8 girls teams – both varsity and B squad
Q. Where are the games played this year?
A. Varsity games will be played at Mayo Civic Auditorium and Regional Sports
Center. B squad games will be played at the Regional Sports Center.
Q. What does it cost the teams to play in the tournament?
A. Nothing, we do not have a registration fee and the Kahler Grand Hotel
provides hotel rooms at a low cost which we pay. We have a dance for the
teams the second night of the tournament with food and lots of door prizes.
Q. Has U.S. Bank always been a sponsor?
A. Yes. Their continued financial and staff support has been an important part of
the success of the tournament.
Q. Who are the teams playing in the tournament this year?
A. Girls teams are Albany, Bloomington Kennedy, Century, John Marshall,
Lakeville, Lourdes, Mayo, New Life Academy. Boys teams are Apple Valley, Century, John Marshall, Lourdes, Mayo, Monticello, Plainview Elgin Millville,
Stillwater.
Q. How many Rotarians work on this tournament?
A. Almost 200 members help in one way or another. All three Rochester Rotary
Clubs participate in this tournament. These clubs have about 400 members.
Q. What are the ticket prices?
A. Adult Tournament Pass (all games at all sites) $20
Student Tournament Pass (all games at all sites) $10
